smartEQ 4 uses AI to correct spectral issues and achieve tonal balance. This equalizer lets you approach a project from a mixing perspective: intelligent cross-channel processing gives you hierarchical control over multiple tracks and lets you perform spectral mixing with drag and drop.

Unlike usual equalizers that leave the context of a mix out of any processing, smartEQ 4 allows you to easily control multi-track unmasking processes and perform spectral mixing by simply dragging and dropping up to 10 tracks. This set priorities for each smart:filter, bringing some elements to the foreground of the soundstage, leaving some in the middle, and pushing others into the background. Switching between instances is a thing of the past in this innovative tool – any instance within the same group can be controlled remotely from any other instance.

AI-powered equalization for instant spectral balance

The centerpiece of smartEQ 4 is the smart:filter – it automatically balances the signal based on the target profile you choose for your tracks. The smart:filter in each EQ instance comes with a variety of features to tune the AI-powered processing to your liking. Open the smart:filter widget to adjust the Smoothing parameter for smoother filtering and enable the Adaptive option to smooth out highly dynamic signals. You can divide the smart:filter's green weighting curve and set a certain frequency range to define where the smart algorithms should work.

smartEQ 4's smart:filter can be used in three modes:< /p>

• 'Track' balances the channel;
• 'Group' does not affect the channel, but reduces masking between it and other group members;
• 'Track and Group' applies balancing to the channel and makes it subject to unmasking.

With each generation of smartEQ, the range of available profiles has increased. smartEQ 4 sports instruments and vocal profiles that you can use on single tracks or buses. To give your mix a final spectral polish, use one of the genre-based profiles. If you're going for a certain sound, load a reference track to create a custom profile and have smartEQ 4 emulate its spectral character and balance on your channel or bus. By popular demand, you can now even specify the maximum learning time that smartEQ 4 should use to analyze the input signal.

smartEQ 4 is a highly versatile equalizer that offers all the features you would expect from a professional-grade equalizer. In addition to smart:filter, smartEQ 4's default EQ bands feature dynamic behavior, offering a dynamic filter widget with familiar compressor-style controls. These standard EQ bands can be used alongside or instead of the main smart:filter bands for any instance of smartEQ 4. There is also an auto gain feature to compensate for level changes, comprehensive Mid-Side processing, and an analyzer feature that It doesn't just show the track in question, but all instances that are in the same group.
