Bus Compressor Plug-in
The Bus Compressor is based on the VCA-type bus compressor mix of a world-renowned British desktop mixer from large format from the 80s. It has been used in virtually every hit album and major production from the 80s to the present day, so much so that its sound has almost become a trademark. This compressor was so widely used that it later became a self-contained rackmount unit, so that it could be used separately from the large format console. And this has brought even more success, which has led to the emergence of many clones in hardware and software that try to imitate it.
This legendary processor has been painstakingly analyzed and measured down to the simplest component, compression curve, soft knee behavior and detection circuitry; all of this in order to get an accurate reproduction of the original that will provide a cohesion to the mixes that is often called a "glue effect", where each instrument blends in very well with the others and mixed tracks suddenly start to sound really like "music ".
Like many of our hardware-based modules, we've added several nice and useful features not present in the original; in this case, we've added the "Grit" switch that will reproduce the slight increased second harmonic distortion of an external calibration unit, a behavior used by many engineers for its more characteristic sound.

Oversampling
The Sidechain HP filter has been added to filter low frequencies out of the path of the sensing circuit so that they don't overmodulate the compression, thus avoiding the "pumping" effect at the lower limit and higher proportions. When not active, however, the "pumping" effect delivered by this module is amazing, making it equally comfortable in high rock or dance floor mixes.
The 1.5:1 ratio has been added for subtle, level compressions, making mixes "shine" even compression without sounding compressed.
We like to see- it's used in your DAW's mix bus, where it's ideally designed to be, but it's also great on other stereo sources, like drum submixes or parallel bus mixes: this usage is also well known by engineers and producers around the world, a very effective one for "obscene" amounts of compression, punchy drum rooms and creative effects.
